How to use breakout rooms with zoom. When the meeting starts click breakout rooms at the bottom of the screen. Zoom breakout rooms allow meeting participants to work in independent groups while still being managed by the host from a zoom call. Using the zoom web portal make sure to sign in with administrative privileges. Zoom will open a pop up window where you can set breakout arbitrary by the number of rooms or drop students in breakout rooms manually then click create breakout rooms. There are a few points you need to remember or keep in mind while using the breakout room feature in zoom.
Make the window bigger or find breakout rooms by clicking the more button. Breakout rooms allow you to split your zoom meeting in up to 50 separate sessions. The meeting host can choose to split the participants of the meeting into these separate sessions automatically or manually or they can allow participants to select and enter breakout sessions as they please. Click on the breakout rooms icon on the zoom host toolbar to see who s in each room or hover over to move rename delete or reassign people from various rooms. Users joined using zoom rooms are unable to join breakout rooms but the main room can be used as an alternative session for these users.
